Heart Center

Once again, we see how important it is to take responsibility for your own health and treatment, and no one looks out for your interest like you can.

We got a call from the oncologist's scheduler that they made an appointment for the echo-cardiogram at 3:30 this afternoon, and then we'd see the cardiologist four days later on Friday, the day after we'd have gotten the results anyway from our already scheduled appointment back at the Cancer Center on Thursday!  Echo-cardiograms are easy to "read" and can be pretty much instantly seen as "ok" or "not ok".  Lisa asked the scheduler for the phone number of the heart center, and called and got the appointment for the echo-c moved up to late this morning, and the appointment with the cardiologist immediately after lunch today.

Update:  Lisa's heart tested fine, both in structure and function, as shown by a new echo-cardiogram and EKG.  The faster heart rate is just the heart reacting to the stress on the body, as well as the stress emotionally.  Doctor Haught, who took care of us at the Heart Center is a cancer survivor himself.  He was very understanding and took a lot of time with Lisa, especially considering that her heart tested out to have no issues.
