The port implantation took place around 1pm this afternoon... it took the surgeon only about 15 minutes to get it done, though our total hospital day today was almost 7 hours, but part of that in the early morning was pre-admittance paperwork and blood draw for next week's laser brochoscopy surgery. There were no complications during the port implantation surgery. Lisa is home now resting, and will probably sleep quite a bit through the evening while the rest of the sedation wears off.
The surgical dressing over the area is waterproof, so she can shower or whatever else she feels up to doing tomorrow.
