Good News

We got a call from the radiation oncology nurse.  Yesterday afternoon's CT scan shows no pneumonia, nor any other obvious upper respiratory infection.  Further, the visible tumor has reduced in size "substantially" -- what a praise!  We'll get more details later.

Update:  I arranged to go get the radiologist's written CT report, interpreting the imaging (I also got the CT scan images), and the news is even better now that I can quantify "substantially reduced."  The visible mass is 39% smaller in volume than it was than when it was first discovered in January, which is 61% smaller than it was after the first two rounds of chemo, just before radiation started.  And we know that what is still there could very well be already dead tissue that the body just hasn't broken down yet.

Since we've had this CT scan now (early), the one that had been scheduled for the end of June will probably be moved out to mid- or late July.

Lisa is still in pain, coughing a lot, and running a 100.6 fever, but it's manageable.
