It was a rough night, but today is clearly a better day... Lisa felt quite improved this morning compared to the last several days, and was able to participate in a luncheon with some coworkers.
This afternoon she went on her own for her weekly blood draw and vital signs, and they ended up keeping her there two hours because she had a slight fever, her oxygen was slightly low, her white blood count was high, and her heart rate was high. The doctor wants her to go on antibiotics for the fever, even though they normally don't bother with that until it gets to 100.5 (she was 99.8) since slight fever is a common side effect of chemo. Also, Lisa's potassium and blood protein levels were low, so she is supposed to eat more protein and potassium-rich foods unless she wants to take additional supplements. The doctor's office may do some more blood tests on the samples they drew today, and if anything else unusual shows up, they'll call us.
Here at around 4pm, Lisa is still feeling ok... but very tired and worn out, her elevated heart rate is uncomfortable, and she feels like nausea may be creeping back in.
