We head back to the cancer center this afternoon for a 1pm appointment for the immunity booster shot. According to what I've read, it has the potential for making Lisa feel worse over the next several days while it's working, causing a lot of bone aches and pain as it stimulates the marrow to produce more red cells and especially white cells. Pray that it does what it's supposed to, but without the side effects.
Update: I don't think they would have told us if Lisa hadn't asked... but yes, the bone pain is a common side effect. What they suggested is for her to take a Zyrtec twice a day as a preventive. Even though Zyrtec is a type of antihistamine, it does help counteract however it is that the body reacts with pain to the stimulus in the bone marrow.
