It was an encouraging meeting with the radiation oncologist this morning. He said that sometimes the lymph nodes don't shrink at the same rate as the main part of the tumor, so he's "cautiously optimistic". He's very pleased with the amount of tumor reduction we're already seeing, and it is considerably more than expected and above average compared to most patients.
After we left the cancer care center, we went over to the hospital and Lisa had all of her pre-op tests and paperwork done in preparation for the bronchoscopy and mediastinum biopsies coming on Thursday.
By early evening, Lisa again had chest, neck, face and head pain. The doctor had said that this is almost certainly a result of the nerve bundle that goes through the chest into the face and head being irritated by the tumor. On Tuesday we have an appointment with another ear-nose-throat ("ENT") specialist, and are waiting to get in to see a neurologist which may not be until the week following.
