This afternoon is an appointment with the oncologist, presumably followed by the scheduled chemo treatment. Lisa got an ultrasound on her upper right leg to make sure the discomfort and heat isn't coming from a blood clot, and we'll get that result from the doctor when we see him.
UPDATE: Lisa's ultrasound showed that there was no issue with blood clots. It may be that her pain there is indeed the cancer's reaction to the chemo that's killing it. To make sure that there have been no new problems developed in that area to bone integrity, Lisa will have a femur and pelvis MRI on Thursday. We'll be able to get the results by phone on Friday morning. Lisa's blood work came out good in most categories, but if her red count continues to drop, at some point she'll need a blood transfusion. They don't do that at the cancer center, but as an outpatient at one of the local hospitals.
After four hours at the cancer center today with the blood test, doctor's visit and chemo, we went out for a quick dinner, and then came home and Lisa went to bed.
