The doctor told us that the chest x-ray shows what the CT scans had shown, which is that the cancer is shrinking. The main reason we get the regular chest x-rays, though, is to watch the pleural effusion (fluid around the lung) and it is stable. As usual, Lisa had bloodwork done today, and all important categories are good, or improving, which is important since chemo can have such a deleterious effect on them. That's all good news!

Lisa had chemo today, and also had a Xgeva injection. It's a once-a-month shot, intended to improve the bones by affecting osteoclasts, which are the type of cells involved with bone loss and regeneration. She had gotten one of these before but held off as the cancer was getting worse. But now that the cancer is improving but her bone pain isn't, this should help speed up the healing there.

Lisa will go back for more chemo next Tuesday and then have at least a week off. She'll have a full body PET/CT scan done on Monday March 26, and we'll see the doctor for results the next day.
