It was a very rough night for Lisa, including a fever as high as 101.8F which is well over the 100.3F that the cancer center uses as a threshold. From past experience, I didn't feel that there would be any benefit to phone the on-call nurse at 3am, so I sent a text to the doctor at 7am. He replied that I should bring Lisa in to see him this morning.
They're running blood cultures again, and in listening to her lungs the oncologist thinks she may have an infection. She'll have a chest x-ray and two days of antibiotic infusions.
The first infusion was this morning, then we went over to the imaging center to get the chest x-ray. We'll get the x-ray result when we go in for tomorrow's infusion.
