Lisa's temperature spiked last night from being normal to being 100.8 and also was running a fever this morning.  For patients being treated for cancer, anything above 100.3 usually requires intervention.  Lisa has been put on an oral antibiotic and also had to go in to the cancer center this afternoon for an antibiotic infusion of Rocephin, a broad spectrum antibiotic.  They also drew blood from two sites (Lisa infusion port, and her arm) to send off for both aerobic and anaerobic bacteria cultures, which takes several days.
