Radiation started on Lisa's leg/hip/pelvis today, and we're glad that she only has to be on the radiation table for about 10 minutes. Her appointment is at 2:40 each weekday afternoon.
Today Lisa also got her first Xgeva injection. It's a single shot, and she'll get it once every four weeks. It improves the bones by affecting osteoclasts, which are the type of cells involved with bone loss and regeneration. As the bones strengthen, they draw calcium from the blood, which is why Lisa has to take a daily calcium supplement.
Lisa has been having more headaches along with the increased hip pain this last week, and also nausea. She's especially hurting more tonight, though we're not sure why. She's been given some new medicines to help with all of those symptoms.
